Caleb has served as an adjudicator at events across the United States, Europe and Asia. His judging experience includes work with WGI Sport of the Arts, Drum Corps International, Bands of America, the Malaysia World Band Competition, and a number of local and regional marching arts organizations and events across the United States.
Caleb currently serves as the Percussion Education Coordinator for WGI Sport of the Arts. He has previously served as a program director, arranger, and instructor for Ayala HS (1997-2009), Pulse Percussion (2004-2007), and Rancho Cucamonga HS (2000-2004). He also served as a front ensemble arranger and instructor for Upland HS (2004-2006), Spirit of Atlanta Drum and Bugle Corps (2010), and Impulse Drum and Bugle Corps (2004-2006).
He has been a percussion educator in Southern California since 1997 and has worked with more than twenty different high schools, independent percussion ensembles, and drum and bugle corps. He is an internationally sought-after adjudicator and clinician and has written for numerous groups across the United States and Japan.
Caleb served as principle percussionist of the Cal Poly Pomona University Wind Ensemble from 1998 to 2003 and has also performed with the Irvine Valley College Wind Symphony. In addition to his concert performances, Caleb has been active as a studio musician and has performed on several albums and film soundtracks.
Music Education & degrees
Mr. Rothe received his bachelor's degree in Computer Science from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona in the spring of 2003 and his teaching credential from the University of Redlands in the winter of 2007. After teaching math and percussion and serving as mathematics department chair for many years, he now serves as an Instructional Technology Coach for the Redlands Unified School District.
